Smart Sensor Kit with default modules

The Smart Sensor Kit(SSK) is a versatile single-board development kit for Bluetooth Smart, ANT and 2.4GHz proprietary applications using the nRF51 Series SoC. This kit supports nRF51822 and nRF51422 SoCs’ development.

The key idea of SSK is modularity. All kinds of MEMS sensors are connected to SSK via industrial standard interface I²C.

SSK provides temperature & humidity, barometer, 3-axis accelerometer, magnetometer, gyrometer, etc. sensors’ drivers. It is plus & play. On the other hand, SSK has GPIO in each module connector. GPIOs support LED, buzzer, LCD, analog sensors, etc.

The kit gives access to all GPIO pins via pin headers and incorporates a coin-cell battery holder for portability enabling in-situ demonstration, evaluation and test. Each board has 2 buttons, 3 LEDs(supports more LEDs with LED module), power supply and current measurement pins, a Segger J-Link device connector which enables program/debug and an UART communication with the nRF51822 device over USB. A range of software examples from the nRF51 SDK can be used with the SSK.

SSK supports the standard Nordic Software Development Tool-chain using Keil, IAR and GCC. Program/Debug options on the kit are Segger J-Link OB for standard tool-chain. An official Product Key is assigned to SSK by Nordic, so that you can use this ID to download SDK and development documents from Nordic’s website directly.

Smart Sensor Kit has boot loader in default which supports OTA-DFU. That means you can update your own firmware wirelessly. The demo apps for iOS and Android are also available. You can build your own apps easily based on these demo apps.

Hints

  1. Please connect JP2 with jumper before use Micro USB.
  2. External Power should be connect to SSK except JTAG during debugging or writing firmware.
  3. Only P6(P0.13) can drive Buzzer.
  4. SSK uses LDO mode, supports 1.8~3.6V.

Smart Sensor Kit(SSK)是基于nRF51系列SoC的多功能单板开发套件,支持Bluetooth Smart, ANT以及2.4G私有协议。套件支持nRF51822以及nRF51422 SoC的开发。

SSK采用了模块化的外设结构,使用业界标准的I2C总线连接各种MEMS传感器,使得开发人员可以根据应用需要自行选择传感器。

SSK提供了温湿度,气压,3轴加速度,磁场,陀螺仪等多种传感器的驱动程序,可实现即插即用。同时,模块插座的GPIO引脚也可支持LED,Buzzer,LCD,模拟传感器等其他外设。

开发套件通过排针引出了所有的GPIO,并考虑到便携性,内置了纽扣电池夹,方便现场演示、评估和测试。开发板载2个按钮,3个LED等(可通过LED模块扩展至更多),电源和电流测试管脚,支持固件写入和debug的Segger J-Link编程器接口以及一个USB接口(可通过此接口与nRF51系列SoC进行UART串口通信)。大量Nordic官方的nRF51 SDK中的例程皆适用于SSK。

SSK支持Keil、IAR和GCC等标准Nordic软件开发工具。支持通过Segger J-Link进行固件写入与调试。SSK拥有Nordic官方授权的Product Key,可以使用此ID在Nordic官方网站下载所需SDK及开发文档等。

Smart Sensor Kit出厂时所带的Boot Loader支持OTA-DFU固件升级功能,使得开发阶段即可使用无线固件升级方式。同时提供iOS与Android的Demo App,使您轻松上手。

注意事项

  1. 使用Micro USB接口时,请先确认JP2已插好跳线
  2. Dubug/写入固件时,除JTAG外,还需要接电源
  3. Buzzer需要插在P6(P0.13)端口上
  4. Nordic nRF51芯片LDO模式支持1.8~3.6V供电
